Mālama Family Recovery Centerʻs Mana Wahine Garden

Mākena Golf & Beach Club is honored to be a Matching Grant Sponsor for Mālama Family Recovery Centerʻs Mana Wahine Garden.

In 2022, Mālama Family Recovery Center established a garden space for women participating in the residential substance use treatment program. Participants consistently reported the positive therapeutic effects of garden related activities, and subsequently, the Mana Wahine Garden Program was developed. Guided by horticultural therapist and ho'oponopono practitioner, teacher, and author Donna Vida, the group meets on a weekly basis, and clients and their children visit the garden in their free time.

We are humbled to support the Mana Wahine Garden Program, where mākua and keiki come together with plants and honua (earth and soil).
